		Job Title: Part time Orthoptist - Doncaster East, VIC Job Type: Part Time Location: Doncaster East, VIC Date Advertised: 20/02/2025 Description: Cataract & Eye Surgery Centre is a new and modern ophthalmology practice with state of the art equipment. We provide professional eye care services within the following specialties: general ophthalmology, cataract, refractive, corneal, glaucoma, retinal, oculoplastics, and strabismus. We are seeking an Orthoptist to join our friendly team, new graduates are welcome to apply. The successful applicant will work in close collaboration with our 5 ophthalmologists, 2 orthoptists and receptionists. Clinical duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Preliminary work up and orthoptic assessments - Use of diagnostic equipment: tonometry (Perkins, iCare), visual fields, Zeiss OCT, Heidelberg Spectralis, ZEISS Atlas topography, biometry (IOL Master 700), contact ascan and B scan - Intraocular lens calculations and ordering - Assistance in minor procedures, intravitreal injections, cross-linking, etc - Theatre attendance with surgeon to assist with administrative tasks - Other admin duties: patient queries and counselling, typing and sending doctor correspondence, sterilising - Conducting assessments for clinical trial patients, training provided The applicant will need to have a tertiary qualification in Orthoptics and current registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board. Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills and be able work proactively within the team and independently. The position is for 3 to 4 days a week, depending on the applicant. There is onsite parking for staff. Full training will be provided.
