Job Description:
Cataract & Eye Surgery Centre is a new and modern ophthalmol-
ogy practice with state of the art equipment.
We provide
professional eye care services within the following specialt-
ies: general ophthalmology, cataract, refractive, corneal,
glaucoma, retinal, oculoplastics, and strabismus.
We
are seeking an Orthoptist to join our friendly team, new graduate-
s are welcome to apply. The successful applicant will
work in close collaboration with our 5 ophthalmologists, 2 orthopt-
ists and receptionists.
Clinical duties and responsibilit-
ies include, but are not limited to:
- Preliminary work
up and orthoptic assessments
- Use of diagnostic equipment:
tonometry (Perkins, iCare), visual fields, Zeiss OCT, Heidelbe-
rg Spectralis, ZEISS Atlas topography, biometry (IOL Master
700), contact ascan and B scan
- Intraocular lens calculati-
ons and ordering
- Assistance in minor procedures, intravit-
real injections, cross-linking, etc
- Theatre attendance
with surgeon to assist with administrative tasks
- Other
admin duties: patient queries and counselling, typing and
sending
doctor correspondence, sterilising
- Conducting assessme-
nts for clinical trial patients, training provided
The
applicant will need to have a tertiary qualification in
Orthoptics and current registration with the Australian Orthoptic
Board. Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication-
, organisational and time management skills and be able
work proactively within the team and independently.
The
position is for 3 to 4 days a week, depending on the applicant.
There is onsite parking for staff. Full training will be
provided.
