Orthoptist / Optometrist / Ophthalmic Assistant

Hume Eye Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic Orthoptist / Optometrist to work as an ophthalmic assistant and join our busy ophthalmic practice in Wangaratta. You will work closely with an ophthalmologist in a small cooperative team. All levels of experience are welcome. The job will be permanent part-time of around 30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, or it can be sessional by negotiation. We are a general ophthalmology clinic, primarily treating cataract, glaucoma and anterior segment conditions. The practice is equipped with a Humphrey visual field, OCT, IOLMaster and Pentacam. Duties will include:

– General History taking
– Visual acuity and refraction
– Intraocular pressure measurement
– Biometry (IOLMaster 700)
– Topography (Pentacam)
– OCT (Cirrus 5000)
– Assisting during minor oculoplastic procedures
– Inventory management of medical supplies
