Orthoptist – Permanent Part-Time

Gippsland Eye Centre is a well-established and growing ophthalmic practice located in the heart of Drouin. We are dedicated to providing exceptional eye care in a friendly, professional, and patient-focused environment.

This is a permanent part-time Orthoptic position, offering a minimum of 15 hours per week with regular all-day sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays. Every fourth Monday will be at our sister clinic, Casey Eye Centre in Narre Warren. Additional sessions may become available as our patient base continues to grow.
As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in supporting our ophthalmologists and orthoptists in delivering outstanding patient care. Working within a small practice means you’ll enjoy variety in your day and have the opportunity to be involved in both clinical and administrative aspects of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
• Patient assessment and Orthoptic workup
• Diagnostic Testing (OCT – Heidelberg, Biometry – Lenstar)
• Surgical booking and list management
• Assistance in maintaining stock levels, management of Anti-VEGF patients and scripts
• Supporting the team with administrative and reception duties

Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Orthoptics (or equivalent)
• Current registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB)
• Experience is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply – full training will be provided.
