Orthoptist

Description

South Western Eye Care is seeking an enthusiastic and caring Orthoptist to join our friendly team. All levels of experience welcomed.

Your duties will include (but is not limited to):

Performing orthoptic tasks including history taking, visual acuity, refraction, ocular motility and cover testing, intraocular pressure measurement, visual fields, OCTs, biometry, retinal imaging and assisting with minor operative procedures (including retinal and oculoplastic work).
Pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
Intraocular lens calculations.
Medical instrument sterilisation.
Ability and willingness to assist with reception duties, patient billing and surgical bookings.
Ability to assist with the day-to-day smooth running of the practice, including ordering office and ophthalmic medical supplies, preparing operating theatre lists and typing and auditing of medical reports.
Other administrative and clinical duties as required.

Ability to work autonomously while thriving in a structured, team-based environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Sound computer literacy.
Registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board.
