Description
Our growing Ophthalmology practice in Narellan is seeking motivated Orthoptists to join a team of 8 Ophthalmologists and 6 Orthoptists. Narellan Eye Specialists is a busy and fast-paced multidisciplinary ophthalmic practice with sub-specialties in cornea, oculoplastics, lacrimal and orbital surgeries, glaucoma, medical and surgical retina and general ophthalmology.
Employment types:
• Permanent part-time (28.5 hours per week) and
• Full-time
Key responsibilities:
• Orthoptic work-up and patient screening
• Diagnostic testing (HVF/IOL MASTER /OCT/Pentacam/Fundus photography and angiography)
• Patient counselling and consent for procedures
• Setting up for minor surgical procedures and assisting with intravitreal treatments
• Assisting in surgical procedures such as blepharoplasty, ptosis, ectropion and entropion repairs
• Instrument sterilisation
• Management of surgical lists
• Accompanying ophthalmologists to theatre
About you:
• Master of Orthoptics (or equivalent)
• Enthusiastic and highly motivated
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Excellent communication skills
