Part-Time Orthoptist

Job Type: Part Time (3 days per week)

Location: Malvern, VIC

We are seeking an enthusiastic part-time orthoptist for a busy small practice in Malvern to assist our 2 Ophthalmologists.

Clinic Specialties include:
• Cataract assessment and treatment
• Glaucoma Management
• Medical Retina
• Paediatrics and Strabismus
• General Ophthalmology

Orthoptist responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• General ophthalmic assessments including history taking, subjective refraction, vertometry, IOP measurement
• OCT (Spectralis)
• Humphrey Visual Field Testing
• Biometry (IOL Master 700)
• Setting up and assisting with minor surgical procedures including intravitreal injections
• Some administration duties
• Answering patient enquiries

Position requirements:
• An Orthoptics qualification
• Professional Indemnity Insurance
• registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB)
• current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
• Effective time management, priority management and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal skills

An interest, though not necessarily experience in children’s eye care would be favourable and training can be provided on devices if required.
