We are a fast-paced ophthalmology practice in the Pacific Square Shopping Centre, Maroubra, seeking an articulate friendly Orthoptist to join and complement our growing team.

We at the Eastern Eye Centre, have been offering exceptional patient care for over 25 years servicing the needs of the Sydney Eastern beaches. Our focus is to always provide a superior clinical service within a caring environment. As one of a team of six Orthoptists, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our 8 fabulous Ophthalmologists whilst meeting all the clinical expectations of our patients.

Although the role is a part time position, the diversity and nature of our practice offers a real opportunity to expand your clinical skills as an orthoptist and grow with our practice. You will need to be flexible with days and times of work and willing to do additional days and hours to cover other staff’s annual leave etc.

Our practice offers a wide range of sub speciality services including cataract, cornea, oculoplastic, paediatric ophthalmology, adult and paediatric strabismus, medical retina and glaucoma.

The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of ophthalmic and orthoptic services provided to adults and children. Duties will include assessing visual acuity, IOP measurements, visual fields, OCT, Pentacam, fluorescein angiography, immersion/contact biometry, IOL Master, subjective refractions, assisting with intravitreal injections and minor oculoplastic procedures and post-operative care.

You will need to be well presented and highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of our team.

You will be rewarded with an excellent hourly rate, based on your experience.

Applicants will need to have completed B. App. Sc (orthoptics)/Master of Orthoptics.

New graduates are encouraged to apply, and full training will be provided if required.
