		Job Title: Orthoptist / Ophthalmic Assistant - Sydney CBD & Darlinghurst, NSW Job Type: Full Time Location: SYDNEY CBD + DARLINGHURST Date Advertised: 14/10/2024 Description: Seeking a Full-Time Orthoptist/Ophthalmic Technician for our growing team at Envision Eye Centre located in both Macquarie St Sydney and St Vincent’s Clinic Darlinghurst. Envision Eye Centre is a multidisciplinary ophthalmic practice., with a strong focus on refractive and corneal work. The successful applicant will be keenly interested in refractive/ laser as we run our own laser suite with the newest VISUMAX 800 + SCHWIND. You will be exposed to a range of conditions such as Cataracts, cornea, refractive, glaucoma, medical retina, dry eye, and some limited pediatrics. The successful applicant would be able to perform the following: o Patient history/VA o Verions o I-care tonometry o OCT o Humphrey Visual Field o A-scan o Pentacam/ Specular Microscopy o Subjective refraction/ Free refractive consults o Collagen Cross Linking o Assist in minor surgical procedures and intra-vitreal injections The successful applicant will have the following qualities: - Eager to learn new skills not only in Orthoptic but with a real keen interest in the ophthalmic side of the profession. - Be a flexible team player - Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced environment both solo and as part of a team. - Computer literacy and ability to help with administrative tasks when required. - Willingness to learn to scout and scrub into the laser suite and assist the surgeons - Flexibility to travel between both Macquarie St and Darlinghurst rooms. - Have attention to detail, be reliable, and be punctual. Experience is desirable particularly if you have a previous refractive background but new graduates are welcome to apply. Training will be provided to the right candidate.
