Our Ophthalmologists are well-respected, ethical and caring leaders in the field. We specialise in a broad range of subspecialties: cataract surgery, surgical and medical retina, oculoplastic surgery, glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmology. We are independently owned and operated. Our main priority is providing patient care of the highest quality. We are seeking a caring orthoptist to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a new graduate or an experienced orthoptist who is looking to join a great team. We currently have 3 full time orthoptists. You will be providing support for 6 consulting Ophthalmic Surgeons. Essential criteria: You must be a team player with excellent communication skills and possess the ability to be proactive and to work autonomously in a busy environment. You must have strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalism are key in being successful in this role. The position involves vision assessment, history taking and the following tests: • Humphrey visual field • Heidelberg OCT • Optos ultra-widefield imaging • IOL Master 700 • Corneal specular microscopy • Pentacam corneal topography The role involves assisting with intravitreal injections and minor procedures. Apart from clinical duties, the successful applicant should be comfortable with administrative duties including working at the reception desk, patient bookings, organising theatre lists, and medical correspondence dispatch. The hours and days are flexible (Monday to Friday) and the successful candidate will be able fit in with the other orthoptic staff to fill the required clinic hours.
