Description: Product Specialist – Ophthalmic Surgical (Sydney/NSW North) - Maternity Leave Cover with opportunity for Permanent role.

About us…
Since 1992, Device Technologies has been dedicated to improving patients’ lives through leading edge technology and services, supplying hospitals and healthcare professionals with the finest medical solutions for their patients. Device Technologies continues to grow with HQ based in Sydney representing over 200 trusted brands, along with over 1000 highly skilled staff located across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
The opportunity…

We have a role within our Ophthalmic Surgical sales team to cover 6-12 months maternity leave on our Sydney/NSW North Territory. This is a great opportunity for a qualified Orthoptist or Optometrist who has always wondered what it would be like to work in a clinical sales role - with the option to opt out after 6/12 months if it’s not for you; or potentially move into a permanent role if you thrive during this period.

As a Product Specialist for the Ophthalmic Surgical Team you would enjoy working with a team of individuals who all possess their own special talents, that like to collaborate within their own team, and with others across the Device Technologies network, to deliver surgeons and patients tailored product solutions for better health outcomes. You will have the benefit of representing a product portfolio that is rapidly evolving in order bring the latest technology to market - making the role dynamic, interesting and never boring!

Our Ophthalmic Surgical Product Specialists aim to provide patients with improved visual outcomes through the supply and support of a comprehensive range of Intraocular Lenses (IOLs), Implantable Collamer Lenses (ICLs), Ophthalmic Prostheses, Surigical Instruments and Consumables, plus a small range of Capital Equipment including Phaco machines and the latest Automated Capsulotomy Laser technology. You will spend your days in both clinical consulting rooms and hospital operating theatre environments, promoting new products, techniques, and procedures to surgeons, whilst also managing the critical relationships we maintain with Nurse Unit Managers, Nursing Teams, Hospital Purchasing Managers, and surgeon support staff. This role will service customers north of Sydney Harbour, travelling as far north as Coffs Harbour. It is an expectation that you are available to travel to service your regional customers every 6-8 weeks, and sometimes more frequently, depending on new product trials. Periodical interstate travel to attend conference and education events is also expected.

A competitive remuneration package is on offer, which includes a Base Salary, Monthly Commission, Monthly Car Allowance, Superannuation and Group Salary Continuance Insurance.

About you...
At Device Technologies, our values are linked to four key areas of our business: Innovation, Collaboration, Ownership, and Good Business. Resonating with our values and the care we have for our people, you will enjoy the benefits of working with a team of reliable and committed professionals who all go the extra mile for both their team mates and their customers.
