Description: Job Type: Orthoptist - Casual with the possibility of increasing to Full Time
Availability required mainly on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Gordon Eye Surgery and Lane Cove Eye surgery are currently seeking expressions of interest for a casual Orthoptist role (predominantly on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) with the possibility of increasing to full time to assist with busy clinics and provide coverage for staff leave.

Gordon Eye Surgery is a highly specialised multi-disciplinary ophthalmic practice with 18 Ophthalmologists and several other specialists working together in a modern and dynamic environment. The role could be suited to a new Graduate or experienced clinician that would like exposure to all aspects of ophthalmology such as:
General Ophthalmology
Medical Retina
Cataract and Refractive
and be surrounded by a large team of dedicated and experienced Orthoptists, Nurses and Ophthalmic Technicians.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Ophthalmic assisting, Orthoptic assessments (Paediatric and Neuro), retinal injection assisting and general ophthalmic screening, are all part of the job description for this role.

The suitable candidate must have an enthusiastic approach, and possess the ability to work autonomously, as well as collaboratively within a team. Professional initiative, clinical acumen and critical thinking is essential.

Flexibility to travel between the two practice localities on the same day if needed is also required.

Applicants must hold a B. App Sc (Orthoptic) / Masters of Orthoptics or equivalent and be eligible for registration with the AOB.

Both new graduates and experienced Orthoptists are encouraged to apply.
