Job Description:
We are a small established multidisciplinary ophthalmology practice dedicated to providing exceptional eye care and vision therapy services in medical retina, glaucoma, paediatrics- , cataract & refractive surgery. We are currently seeking an honest and hard-working casual orthoptist to join our small friendly team and support our mission of enhancing visual health and well-being.
Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Performing detailed eye examinations to assess binocular vision, ocular motility, and visual function including history taking, vision screenin- g, IOP (iCare & GAT), refractions, Hess chart, colour vision screening, etc.
- Diagnostic testing including autorefra- ction, vertometry, OCT, corneal topography, biometry, fundus photography, visual fields, etc.
- Assisting with minor surgical procedures and setups including intravitreal injectio- ns, chalazions, etc.
- Lens calculations
- Stock managemen- t including stocking rooms and ordering
- Sterilisation
- - Surgical list management and bookings
- Assist in administr- ation duties including reception, typing, filing, etc.
- Ed- ucate patients and their families about eye conditions and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with the clinical team, including ophthalmologists and other healthcare profession- als, to provide high-quality and comprehensive care.
- Exce- llent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and days as needed.
The successfu- l candidate will have the ability to work in a team environm- ent and be flexible with hours as required.
The role will also require you to travel between our two clinics in Miranda and Hurstville (we are close to public transport).

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Orthopt- ics or equivalent.
