Job Description:
LaserSight Sunshine Coast is located in Maroochydore servici-
ng the ever-increasing population of the Sunshine Coast
and surrounds. We are situated in an idyllic location in the
heart of Maroochydore overlooking the river.
We are currentl-
y seeking an optometrist to join our clinical team on
a casual basis to work alongside our ophthalmologist and optometri-
sts in our Maroochydore practice in a refractive surgery
setting.
Clinical duties would include:
Patient assessmen-
ts during ophthalmology clinics
Triage and assess urgent
cases
Post-operative reviews of surgical patients, within
your scope of practice
Assess and manage patients independentl-
y during clinical optometrist clinics
Answer questions
from referrers via phone and email in a timely manner
Intraocul-
ar lens calculations and preparations for operating lists
U-
nderstand relevant Medicare item numbers for optometrists
and appropriate patient billing practices
Participate in
marketing activities such as meetings with external optometrists
and general practitioners
We are seeking someone who
has:
Proven experience as an optometrist
Relevant qualifica-
tion
Current working with children check
Police clearance
in the last 12 months (or willing to obtain)
Enthusiastic
approach
Ability to work within a team.
All necessary
training will be provided and support is available at all
times from our doctors and experienced clinical staff.
Ongoing
training will be provided. Attractive hourly rate is
negotiable with experience.
