Bayside Eye Specialists is a busy, well established and renovated practice with state of the art equipment located in Brighton East. The practice is located close to public transport and free parking is available.
Consulting ophthalmologists provide care for all sub specialities of Ophthalmology including cataract, glaucom- a, cornea, medical and surgical retina, lid surgery, strabis- mus, refractive and general ophthalmology.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Orthoptist with excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic to join our team of Orthoptists. Attention to detail, empathy and excelle- nt interpersonal skills are central to success in this role.
Job Requirements:
To be a successful candidate for this role you will have:
• Tertiary qualification in Orthoptics as recognised by the Australian
Orthoptic Associa- tion
• Registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board
• - Excellent communication skills
• Friendly, professional and reliable attributes
Duties will include:
• General Orthoptic assessment including visual acuity testing and
refraction
• Tonometry (Goldman and Perkins)
• Perimetr- y (Zeiss Humphrey visual fields)
• Optical Coherence Tomography
• Biometry – Optical (IOL Master 700) and Ultrasound (Contact A-scan)
• Topography (Pentacam)
• Retinal photogra- phy (including fluorescein angiography) using Zeiss
Clarus
• Set up and assistance with in room procedures (intravitreal
injections/minor procedures)
• Orthop- tic-led corneal cross linking
• Lipi-flow
• Patient counselling
• Pachymetry
• Ocular motility assessments for adult and paediatric strabismus
• Administrative duties (auditin- g, IOL calculations + ordering, stock
control, sterilisation of ophthalmic equipment)
