The Tasmanian Health Service is seeking interest for a Senior Orthoptist vacancy to work with our friendly team of ophthalmologists and trainees.

Vacancy: Fixed term, full-time, day work, working 76 hours per fortnight commencing June 2021 for approximately 12 months.

Please note that part time hours may be considered.

Duties: You will play a pivotal role as the lead Orthoptist working independently and alongside Ophthalmologists, Ophthalmic nurses, and Allied health Assistants.

The successful candidate will provide a senior level orthoptic clinical assessment and treatment to out-patients and referred in-patients. Duties will include assessment of paediatric and adult strabismus, triaging paediatric referrals, visual field testing, biometry assessment, OCT imaging and patient screening.

The job will suit an Orthoptist with experience in paediatric and adult ocular motility. But also, a highly motivated Orthoptist looking to improve their ocular motility and strabismus knowledge and skills. Training and support will be provided prior to commencement for the right candidate.

Salary: $94,469 to $111,765 p.a. plus superannuation and access to salary packaging.

Please note that access to salaries beyond $105,158 is subject to completion of a relevant Graduate Diploma or application to the personal upgrade scheme in accordance with Schedule 8 of the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019
