The primary
objective of this position is to assist our Ophthalmic Surgeons
in a busy General Ophthalmology Centre and participate
in patient consultations, assessment and testing.
Key Tasks
include but are not limited to:
Work proactively with
patients, doctors and all team members
Closely follow doctor
protocol guidelines and accurately perform/report tests
Clinical assessments of patient medical/ocular histories
Perform refractions, A-Scans, OCTs, Topography, Tonometry,
FFA, Fundus photography
Assist with intra-vitreal injectio-
ns and laser treatments
Assist with ordering medical
supplies and sterilising of equipment as required
Maintain
equipment log books, organise and record services
Collect
data, set up and maintain accurate records and databases
S-
kills/Experience Required:
Applicants must have a Bachelo-
r of Health Science Degree or Orthoptics Qualification
Registration with AOB
Previous patient care / medical
industry experience
Demonstrated written, verbal and interpers-
onal skills
Effective time management, priority managemen-
t and problem-solving skills
Flexibility able to
adjust sessions and hours to suit the needs of the business
(22.8 hours per week 12 month maternity leave position)
